Fresh frozen plasma kept at cryogenic temperatures in Bio Boxes during marine transportation

Introduction: It is difficult to maintain fresh frozen plasma (FFP) at cryogenic temperatures during marine transportation, even with a power supply. Methods: In this study, without supply and below -30 °C, we used BioBoxes for transportation of coronavirus disease vaccines, two demonstration experiments involving round-trip FFP Hachijojima Island (200 km from Tokyo) Ogasawara (1,000 Tokyo). Results: We successfully transported temperature -70 °C or lower. There was no change in the properties minimal activities clotting factors. Conclusion: could transport an isolated island passenger ship, using only dry ice. Furthermore, demonstrated that does not get destroyed thaw due vibration approaching typhoon, proving possibilities stable FFP.
